Uncertain Times: Future of Trans-Atlantic Relations from Perspective of NGOs, Think Tanks in Central Europe and Hungary

The publication by the Hungarian Europe Society entitledUncertain Times: The Future of Trans-Atlantic Relations from the Perspective of NGOs and Think Tanks in Central Europe and Hungary analyzes the growing challenges of great power politics and their security implications, inequality in all its forms and the need of economic recovery, climate change as well as the pressure of anti-liberal, populist forces in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Editors István Hegedűs and Erik Uszkiewicz selected the most intriguing papers and presentations by international authors of the Uncertain Times: The Future of Trans-Atlantic Relations from the Perspective of NGOs and Think Tanks in Central Europe and Hungary project whose aim is to provide a platform for political analysts, policy experts, intellectuals, civil society activists and citizens from the Central European region, the European Union and the United States of America in order to analyse new global trends and seek solutions to current political, cultural and economic dilemmas.


The project is supported by the Embassy of the United States of America in Budapest and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.


Hungarian Europe Society – a non-governmental and non-partisan organization based in Budapest (Hungary). It intends to be involved in the ongoing international dialogue on the future of liberal democracies and wishes to promote Hungary’s ever-deeper integration into Europe
