In 2011 Civil Development Forum was awarded Templeton Freedom Award, prestigious prize, which honours contributions to the promotion of liberal values and free-market solutions. Civil Development Forum has found itself among 16 awarded organizations from 10 different countries, chosen from 183 applications coming from 48 countries.

Civil Development Forum was honoured in the „Special Achievement by a Young Institute” category, for raising social awareness in Poland of dangers of increasing public debt, including the establishment of “public debt clock” in Warsaw City Centre and on the following website: www.dlugpubliczny.org.pl.

Templeton Freedom Awards, named after late American investor and philanthropist Sir John Templeton, is the largest international prize program, which annually awards think thanks for contributions to the promotion of liberal values. The award was officially presented to Civil Development Forum representatives on November 8, 2011 at the annual Liberty Forum conference in New York. The meeting was attended by Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz, who delivered a speech on Polish experiences connected with economic transformation and on the present economic situation in Europe.
