City in the Web is going to be an international conference held in Poznan from 17th to 19th May 2013. The main idea of our conference is to combine workshops and panel discussions. During the conference, we are going to organize “Poznan Urban Data Hackathon”.

Our main goal is to discuss and present examples of digital tools which may be used by citizens to improve their impact on public issues. The need for such tools is widespread among citizens and city authorities. Local editions of this kind of projects are very popular among the local society, but only in the short term. Later, this commitment to the cause decreases. During our event, we will try to find the connection between participation and digitalization. We are going to create concrete recommendations for the existing digital participation tools and present ideas for the new ones.
