The metallurgical and metalworking industry has been one of the pillars of the Ukraine’s economy, but the war and the sea blockade are driving it into a deep crisis. In the industry, enterprises pessimistically assess their business activity and business climate; they continue to reduce production and exports.

Giving up on reforms could send a very bad signal to the other problem countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, France) where they are also key to growth.

Since it is wise to direct resources to a productive and prospective use, our energy should be channelled into the future, instead of prolonging the agony of the failures from the past.

Can this situation be a kick start for a new Europe? Are we in the middle of a tragedy or at the beginning of an opportunity?
