May 11, 2018 – today Lithuania commemorates the Respect for Taxpayers Day for the first time. On this occasion, the Lithuanian Free Market Institute (LFMI) and partners present the Charter of Taxpayer’s Rights, taking the opportunity to remind that taxpayers have not only duties to observe but also rights to enjoy.

On July, 28, 2016, INESS organized in cooperation with EdChoice the 7th annual event commemorating Milton Friedman – The Friedman Legacy Day. This year, more than 100 similar events in various countries around the globe were held, the aim of which was to remember the intellectual legacy of one of the greatest economist of the century.

After 153 days of work on the account of public institutions, the expenditures of which had to be covered by taxpayers, Liberal Institute together with the Czech society commemorated the Tax Freedom Day on June 2, 2016. The Liberal Institute has celebrated the Tax Freedom Day since 2000.

On July 30, 2015, INESS organized an event commemorating Milton Friedman. One of the special guests was Petr Barton of IREF, a Czech economist who spent a part of his professional carrier working at the University of Chicago and knew Milton Friedman in person.

An outdoor celebration of Milton Friedman\'s heritage? Why not! On August 31, 2015, Svetilnik in cooperation with the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice held in Celje, Slovenia, a tennis tournament followed by an evening of discussions on the Nobel laureate\'s life\'s work and a barbecue.
