Due to the activities of the Parliamentary Group on the Decriminalization of Marijuana, the debate on the decriminalization and legalization of recreational cannabis has returned to Poland. The Group plans to present a draft act that would decriminalize the possession of up to 15 grams of marijuana. Current research on drug policy indicates that, from a harm-reduction perspective, the most effective solution is the legalization of this substance.

As of September 1, 2024, the part of an Oregon law that allowed possession of small amounts of psychoactive substances for personal use only under penalty of a misdemeanor was repealed. The decriminalization, which Oregonians voted for in a referendum in 2020, was intended to reduce the social stigma of addicted individuals, reduce overdose deaths, and ease users’ pathways to rehab.

Russian LGBTQ organizations which are currently listed as foreign agents should receive support from their partners in a well-judged manner that does not make their situation even worse.
