The 2019 edition of tFreedom Games, titled “How Do Democracies Win?”, gathered in Lodz leaders and renowned thinkers and engaged them in a debate on the most important challenges that local and global communities must face in the 21st century.
The fourth edition of Freedom Games was held on October 19-21, 2017, in Łódź (Poland). The unique interdisciplinary forum, the aim of which is to offer a creative space for individuals from the sectors of culture, business and public affairs, among others, to discuss the key challenges the Western societies must face in the 21st century.
Contrary to the opinion of many sceptics, civic budgeting in Łódź turned out to be a great success in 2013. 908 projects were submitted by the residents of the city and 129.000 votes were casted what has resulted in the case of Łódź being widely discussed and analysed. How was it achieved?
25th anniversary of July, 4 1989 will definitely result in many commemorative addresses and summaries. We, however, people not much older than the 3rd Republic of Poland, linked to the Liberté! magazin circle, would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the challenges we might face in the future and to make this at the same time a joyful celebration of Polish freedom. Therefore we have decided to organize Freedom Games.
We wish to reveal the fact that rising Euroskepticism is threatening the achievements of European integration and weakening the cooperation of the states coping with economical and social issues.
