We, the eleven undersigned think tanks from ten Member States, call on the EU leadership to rise up to today’s challenges and embrace the declared principles of effectiveness, fairness, subsidiarity, transparency and democratic accountability so that the new EU budget maximizes the added value of the taxpayers’ money in the pursuit of the common goals of the EU and its Member States.

We are pleased to present an extensive body of research on EU policy issues, resulting from five-year cooperation of independent think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe. The annual publications of the More Liberal Voices project include position notes, policy briefs, and petitions on some of the most pressing EU policy issues.

A careful re-examination of the petition over these past two years reflects the role that an organised civil society voice can play in EU policy- and decision-making processes. It also recognises the network as an authoritative source of expertise on EU policy issues.

Liberal Voices Syndicated is a project of the 4Liberty.eu Network aimed at publishing and syndicating original, high-quality commentaries and analysis on a variety of CEE topics.

We have the pleasure to present you the fifth issue of the 4liberty.eu Review. This time, we have decided to devote our magazine to the topic of the sharing economy at large from the point of view of the Central and Eastern European states in an attempt to become a guiding light on the matter. Sharing is Caring!

We, the fourteen undersigned think tanks in eight Central and Eastern European Member States, all members of the 4Liberty network, urge the European Commission, the European Council, the European Parliament and national parliaments of the EU member states to ground their decisions in rigorous research-based economic evidence and to embrace TTIP and its elements, including ISDS.

Zoltán Kész’s victory shattered the two third majority of governing party Fidesz in the parliament. Using this supermajority, the government has implemented a new constitution and new laws curtailing the freedom of speech, human rights and the power of the constitutional court since 2010. Hungary has also become fearfully friendly with Russia regardless of the growing tensions between the EU and Putin.

On October 16-18, 2014 the 4liberty.eu team participated in a joint meeting of all member organizations held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
