July 3 marked an important stage in implementing the EU’s new big tech regulations under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The European Commission started thresholds checks for large internet platforms that are considered to have a strong economic position and a large user base to impact the internal market. 

In mid-February, the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the European Council are scheduled to continue the trilogue on the Digital Markets Act (DMA), a proposal aiming to curtail the anti-competitive behaviour of big digital market players and create a level-playing field for everybody.

The European Commission has presented a proposal for The Digital Markets Act (DMA). Its goal is to create fair and competitive digital markets in the EU. It aims to achieve this by introducing new ex ante regulations that will automatically apply to so-called \"gatekeepers\". The gatekeepers are to be large internet platforms that meet selected size criteria.
